Attraction vs. Fetish

What is the difference between asiaphilia and asian fetish? One might think they are the same. While they are simular, they are drasticly different in practice.

When does an attraction become a fetish?

Philia vs. Fetish

Philia is an attraction based on certain characteristics. An Asiaphile prefers women who have certain characteristics. For instance he may like long black hair, her outlook on life, or her family values. It does not mean that he will fall only for asians, merely that he has an attraction to these women.

Someone with an asian fetish sees asian women as passive objects to be used for their sexual gratification. They are most likely obsessed with finding an asian woman to dominate, and are unattracted to other races.

The key difference between the two is that the asiaphile is looking for the right person in his life while a man with a fetish objectifies (asian)women. We all have certain characteristics we find desirable in a mate; for the asiaphile, some of these characteristics are asian.

Definitions

I believe the following definitions show the difference.

Asiaphile - a (white) man who is attracted to asian (women)

Caucasiophile - a (asian) woman who is attracted to white (men)

Fetish - A sexual attraction to an object.

Asian fetish - a single minded and persistant obsession with asian women. Especially a strong attraction to young and innocent asian women who tend to be more submissive.
